EARTH AND FIRE - THE ART OF WOMEN IN CERAMICS

CERAMICS AT THE MUSEUM

May 17 - 31, 2025
Duca di Martina Museum - Naples
In the central hall of the museum's Oriental section

The Pandora Association of Ceramics Artists returns to the Duca di Martina Museum. On Saturday, May 17, at 12:15 p.m., we will open the exhibition Earth and Fire - The art of women in ceramics, produced by the Campania National Museums Regional Directorate with the Pandora Artiste Ceramists Association and the Amici della Floridiana Cultural Association. Event realized as part of Good morning ceramics - side events. The eastern section of the Museum will display 44 ceramic works by as many Italian and foreign women ceramic artists, offering a broad account of the art of ceramics in its various traditional and innovative expressions and giving continuity to the Women's Ceramics Project and to the Matres International Women's Ceramics Festival. It will be a new opportunity to meet and compare different experiences and ceramic traditions of the Italian and foreign territory, where ceramics becomes the technical and expressive medium of women's creative research. A research sensitive to the preservation of historical, artistic - cultural and contemporary heritage, an opportunity to highlight the aptitude of women to express values, projects, personalities and creative paths in contemporary art, culture and crafts.

The inauguration will be preceded, starting at 10 a.m., by two clay manipulation workshops that, through demonstration moments with the use of the mini-tableturn, curated by some of the artists in the exhibition - Rosalba Di Chiara, Francesca Rusciano and Giovanna Guarnieri, intend to create a path of communication and approach to ceramic art through the experience of practice. Participation in the exhibition and workshops is free of charge, upon purchase of the museum entrance ticket

(€ 4.00 with reductions and gratuities by law).
