The exhibition "SUBTERRA - The Footprint of Water" opened on December 7, 2023 in Naples at the LAPIS Museum, a UNESCO water museum. The exhibition is organized in agreement between the association Pietrasanta Polo Culturale, San Giuseppe dei Nudi and APS PANDORA ARTISTE CERAMISTE curated by Raffaele Iovine, Anna Rita Fasano, Mauro Improta. In this unprecedented and unique exhibition space 40 meters underground, the works of the 13 Italian and foreign women artists and two internationally renowned artists from Italy and abroad are exhibited. An exhibition path where the presence of the ancient cisterns of the Bolla aqueduct, the large reactivated tanks, and the earth itself in its geological depth are the references of the project. A project that aspires to naturally trigger a dialogue of this part of the city's underground, with the works understood here as real living installations that form a communicative unicum between the space generated over time by human activity, the nature and geology of the place and the visitors themselves involved in an experiential visit.
