Born in Turkey, she graduated from the Anadolu Faculty of Fine Arts at the Department of Ceramics (BFA) Eskisehir. She specialized at the Institute of Social Sciences, Master's Program in Ceramics (MFA) at Hacettepe University, specializing in Ceramics in Art. She has worked as an academic in various positions and titles in Turkish universities. She has 11 solo exhibitions in Turkey and Germany to her credit and has participated in more than 70 group and solo exhibitions in national and international competitions worldwide. She is the winner of many awards and her works are in private or museum collections. She moved to Germany in 2017 where she has her own studio. Olgu has lectured on art at NATO Joint Force Brunssum Headquarters, Arts and Crafts Center, Netherlands. Although she began with interpretations of figurines of the Anatolian mother goddess, one of the most common ancient icons of her country, region, and culture, her work has morphed into expressing and interpreting life through the female body and posture. Not only the themes she works on but also the techniques and materials have varied over the years. She works with various techniques of decoration and sculpture to create her sculpture depending on the theme. She describes her recent work as an expression of herself by presenting visual records of her memory. A longtime member of the Pandora Association, she has been a member of the IAC the prestigious International Academy of Ceramics since 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
