The soul requires emotional fulfillment, the mind intellectual satisfaction, the spirit higher realms of experience and the hands sensitive creativity. For the past 40 years I have been searching for the perfect vessel. Clay has always been my medium and I find myself exploring and experimenting with all the different possibilities in which it can be formed, shaped, colored and fired. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christine Lansdale Willis was born in Thessaloniki, Greece. Her first contact with ceramics was on the island of Sifnos, where she studied with traditional folk potters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She received her bachelor's degree in ceramics from UC Santa Cruz. She holds a master's degree in Black Sea Cultural Studies from the International Hellenic University of Thessaloniki. Her work is inspired by her surroundings: nature, the sea, Greek and Byzantine art. She lives in the small village of Lakkia, outside Thessaloniki, where she organizes clay workshops and alternative firings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
